Ordered an air conditioner online because my local Lowe's didn't have it in stock. I waited until I received the "ready to be picked up" email, but when I drove up there three hours later, it wasn't at Customer Service like the email said. It wasn't even picked. I had to wait an additional 20 minutes until they found an employee that could grab it.
Self checkout but no other register were open around it. There was a line to check out and anybody with heavy and large items had to wait for the cashier at the self checkout to scan it to enter into the self check-out register. There was another cashier hanging out at closed registers wiping them down. I would think that helping a guest would be more important the wiping on the workstations at that moment.
The only reason I didn't leave a one star is because the employees looked like they liked their jobs.
Online ordering of appliances couldn't be a worse experience. It's a continued process of over commit & under deliver as well as bait & switch. You order a new product & they try to deliver a floor model that is a scratch & dent. This has happened on more then 1 occasion with them. We order $40k in applainces per year & their pricing packages make it so attractive to order with them but their service continues to disappoint. You should really order from a smaller local appliance company, that's what we'll be doing going forward.
As mom says, Lowe's is more "Female friendly" and is a nice combination of hardcore building materials and tools and the stuff that makes a house a true home.
On the complete other side of the store there was a check out for the construction Department. So I would guess if you don't want to use self-checkout you're required to walk to the opposite side of the store.
Being a guy I like all hardware stores, but even the women in my life like Lowe's. Clean, staffed well with knowledgeable people and stuffed to the rafters with everything you need for your home, including those things you didn't know you needed.
Great help in multiple departments. We are going to do several projects and the employees were very helpful. We then went across to Home Depot to do some comparison shopping and we couldn't get anyone to help us. We even had a young man walk away from us because he was on his phone. Guess his personal business was more important than his job. Bottom line Lowe's will be receiving our business
I understand closing registers and wanting to go home so you counted the cash drawer out early, but try to use some common sense.
I used online pickup so it would be easy in and out. The convenience of ordering it online was ruled out by the amount of time I had to wait.
