I started diving with Altantic Divers in 1989. At that time I went on a lot of dive trips, sponsored by the shop. Early on, it became evident to me that Gene Peterson, the owner, was a very capable diver and it didn't take long for me to be swept up into wreck diving off the New Jersey coast. I took at least 5 courses through Atlantic Divers, which served me well. Diving with Gene and all the others who were on various charter trips provided me with the adventure of a lifetime. I stopped actively diving more than 5 years ago and just got back into the water at the end of 2016. Gene still has the same passion for diving which always shows through his dedication and professional service. I would not hesitate to recommend Atlantic Divers for anyone who wants to learn to dive or venture beneath the coastal waters for the opportunity to view one of the areas spectacular wreck sites. Gene Peterson is unique in that he has never been one to boast about his experience and abilities. He is by far one of the best divers I've ever had the pleasure to dive with. Gene enjoys teaching the skills necessary to learn diving and once you've been around him for any time at all, you'll soon realize that he truly loves scuba diving. He teaches the safest and most thorough courses you can participate in.
